Content Manager
Experience Camps is a national nonprofit that transforms the lives of grieving children through no-cost summer camps, year-round programs, and a culture-shifting movement to normalize childhood grief. Our vision is a world where every grieving child has the support they need to thrive.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re seeking a strategic and creative Content Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of compelling content across all channels. Reporting to our Director of Marketing and communications, this role sits on the Marketing + Communications team and works cross-functionally with Development, Program, and Operations teams to drive campaigns, boost engagement, and elevate brand equity through high-quality storytelling.
This is an ideal role for someone who combines editorial savvy with project management expertise, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has a passion for using content to inspire action and build community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned:
STRATEGY & PLANNING
Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with donor campaigns, brand moments, and large initiatives/ launches
Work with cross functional teams to support departmental goals around fundraising, event sign up, hiring, and more
Help strategize concepting and execution of key campaigns
DIGITAL CONTENT CREATION & MANAGEMENT
Source, create, edit and distribute video content for digital properties (Grief Sucks, Brand/Campaign, select social) and partner with Social Media Associate on owner/execution where applicable
Ensure all content aligns with brand tone, voice, and style guidelines based on channel
Manage freelance teams or agencies as needed
CREATIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Develop and manage a clear intake process for company-wide creative and campaign requests, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines
Serve as the point of contact between graphic design, social media, and other departments to coordinate and traffic creative assets
Maintain visibility into project status; proactively communicate updates and blockers
Ensure creative feedback is captured, implemented, and aligned with brand standards
CHANNEL EXECUTION
Monitor performance and optimize content based on engagement and traffic
Manage web management agency, third party vendors and/or self service options to publish content, oversee CMS and content workflows
MEASUREMENT & OPTIMIZATION
Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track KPIs
Identify content gaps, top-performing pieces, and opportunities for repurposing
Present regular performance reports and insights
EXPECTATIONS & COMPENSATION
40 hours/week (standard schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 9-5/10-6 ET, depending on location) with flexible hours to account for calls and meetings in the evenings
Primarily remote position with occasional in-person requirements. This role includes periodic travel to the Westport, CT office for team collaboration, as well as in-person participation at certain programs and events. Full on-site availability is required during camp weeks in July and August, along with occasional travel throughout the year for scheduled events and meetings
Annual base salary range: $70,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience

QUALIFICATIONS
4–5 years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or brand communications
Understanding of content strategy, SEO, and channel best practices
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), project management tools, video editing software, Google Analytics
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder
Able to submit a portfolio of existing works
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines simultaneously
