ASA fulfills its mission through free digital-first direct experiences, philanthropy, advocacy, thought leadership, groundbreaking research, and impact investing. We believe that exploring career possibilities, as early as middle school, and providing access to education-to-career pathways aligned with one’s passions and goals will result in greater confidence and long-term success for all students.
We are looking for a Content Manager to define and execute our digital platform content strategy, prioritize impactful themes and topics, and collaborate closely with designers, writers, video creators, researchers, and educators to produce engaging, user-centric, kid-friendly and adult-friendly career navigation content. You’ll balance long-term editorial vision with timely, iterative content delivery, ensuring our platforms offer compelling, accessible, and relevant resources aligned with the needs of young job seekers.

- Content Roadmap & Editorial Planning – Develop and maintain an editorial calendar and content roadmap based on impact, audience needs, and resource availability. Create clear outlines, content briefs, and storyboards to illustrate content ideas and execution plans.
- Content Development & Lifecycle – Manage all stages of the content production lifecycle, including planning, creation, editing, reviewing, publishing, and evaluating effectiveness. Ensure content remains current, relevant, and engaging across multiple channels and platforms.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams, external partners, subject-matter experts, and various audience segments to coordinate content initiatives and ensure alignment on messaging, timing, and objectives.
- Content Engagement & Digital Experience – Oversee the digital content experience, ensuring a consistent voice, compelling storytelling, multimedia integration, and effective audience engagement.
- Audience-Centered Content – Advocate consistently for user needs, ensuring content is accessible, inclusive, engaging, and user-friendly. Create content that resonates with audience preferences and effectively supports their career exploration journey.
- Creative & Technical Partnerships – Identify and collaborate with freelance writers, designers, videographers, content agencies, and technology vendors to enhance content creation, quality, and delivery.
- Performance Measurement & Impact Reporting – Define clear content-related KPIs, track content performance, monitor engagement analytics, and regularly report on the effectiveness and impact of content initiatives.
- Agile & Iterative Content Development – Implement an iterative approach to content creation, rapidly testing concepts, gathering user feedback, and refining content based on audience responses.
- Compliance & Privacy – Ensure all digital content adheres to content-related guidelines, accessibility standards, and privacy regulations (COPPA, FERPA, etc.).
- Training & Adoption – Support internal teams, partners, and stakeholders in effectively utilizing and leveraging content to meet organizational goals.
- Content Risk & Crisis Management – Proactively identify potential content-related risks and establish clear protocols to manage content issues, maintain continuity, and ensure prompt response to audience concerns.
About You:
- 3+ years of content management or editorial experience, ideally in edtech, workforce development, digital media, or social impact sectors.
- Experience creating content and managing content strategy in a youth domain is a big plus.
- Strong audience research and content analytics skills to inform editorial decisions and content strategy.
- Proven experience in developing and managing editorial calendars and content roadmaps with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with agile content creation, multimedia production, and iterative publishing processes.
- Passion for youth empowerment, career exploration, storytelling, and digital accessibility.
