Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English or related field.
2 years of professional experience in communications, content development or marketing (nonprofit/health care industry experience preferred).
Exceptional writing and editing skills; AP style proficiency preferred.
Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple projects and moving deadlines.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools helpful.
Photography/videography skills a plus.
A portfolio of work will be requested as part of the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
Write, edit, and proofread news stories, patient and staff profiles, newsletters, annual reports, donor appeals, fact sheets, brochures, press releases, blog posts and web copy.
Research, vet and craft patient, family, staff and donor stories that highlight organizational impact.
Produce internal communication pieces such as staff newsletters and intranet posts.
Maintain a rolling editorial/content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, marketing priorities, events and fundraising campaigns.
Manage department organization of content and collateral, including photography library, story archives, etc.
Partner with designers, digital staff and external vendors to adapt content for multipurpose use across all channels including social, web, print and video.
Coordinate with philanthropy to develop donor-facing materials, appeals, reports and other impactful content.
Ensure all communications follow brand guidelines and AP style standards.
Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Travel and driving may be required.

Consistent delivery of high-quality, on-brand content with little need for edits and revision.
Positive feedback following collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and organization leadership.
Contribution to increases in brand awareness, marketing return on investment, donor engagement, media visibility or community awareness/engagement.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively and to move quickly and precisely on projects with minimal direction.
