Primary Function:
The Creative Content Manager (and/or Director) is a strategic storyteller and content leader responsible for shaping how Bellevue University connects with prospective students, employers, alumni, and the community.
This role will lead the development of compelling, conversion-focused content that communicates Bellevue’s value—career advancement, flexibility, and real-world relevance—and brand promise of “we’re for you” while driving enrollment growth and strengthening brand affinity.
The Creative Content Manager also helps establish and maintain high standards for strategic thinking, creative concepts, messaging, design, and content quality, ensuring all communications are clear, compelling, and aligned with the university’s brand and business objectives.
You will partner across marketing, enrollment, academic programs, and external agencies to deliver content that performs across the full student journey—from awareness to enrollment and beyond.
Essential Functions
Creative & Brand Storytelling
- Lead ideation and production of content across channels: website, social media, email, paid campaigns, video, and thought leadership
- Ensure consistent brand voice that reflects Bellevue University’s professionalism, accessibility, and student-first mission
- Elevate storytelling around career outcomes, workforce relevance, and student success
Campaign Execution & Optimization
- Partner with AOR to support lead generation and enrollment campaigns across paid and owned channels
- Optimize content for performance, using metrics such as conversion rates, engagement, cost per lead, and application starts
- Align messaging and design to key audiences including adult learners, transfer students, military students, and corporate partners
Content Strategy & Enrollment Marketing
- Develop and execute a comprehensive creative content strategy aligned with enrollment goals, program growth priorities, and brand positioning
- Translate program offerings, career outcomes, and student success stories into compelling, audience-focused narratives
- Manage a dynamic editorial calendar supporting program launches, recruitment cycles, and seasonal campaigns
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with enrollment, academic leadership, and student success teams to create accurate and compelling program content
- Work with agencies, freelancers, and internal creatives to scale production within a multi-million-dollar marketing operation
- Ensure content supports institutional priorities and regulatory/compliance standards in higher education marketing
Content Operations & Governance
- Build scalable content processes, workflows, and governance suitable for a high-performing marketing team
- Maintain content quality, accuracy, and consistency across platforms
- Ensure all marketing, communications, and creative materials adhere to established brand standards, messaging, and visual identity guidelines
- Stay current on trends in higher education marketing, content strategy, and student engagement
Skills and Abilities
Education:

Preferred Bachelor’s Degrees: Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or Digital Media or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience strong candidates with associate degrees or certifications who have demonstrated 8+ years of progressive creative work
Required Experience
- 8+ years in content marketing, editorial, or creative roles
- Proven track record supporting performance marketing campaigns, ideally tied to enrollment or lead generation
- Portfolio demonstrating compelling storytelling across digital formats
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex program information
- Strong art direction and design sensibilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, provide clear creative direction and feedback, and ensure all work meets high standards for quality, brand consistency, and effectiveness
- Strategic mindset with strong execution and project management abilities
- Data-driven approach to content optimization and performance measurement
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in higher education, edtech, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
- Creative director experience preferred
- Experience marketing to adult learners or nontraditional student populations
- Familiarity with CRM, CMS, and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Video or multimedia production experience
Computer Skills:

Adobe Creative Suite: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign for graphic design, typography, and layout work.

Video & Motion Graphics: Familiarity with editing suites like Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects to oversee and guide video production pipelines.

Prototyping & Layout: Proficiency with wireframing and design tools such as Figma and Canva.

Team Operations: Experience setting up and operating within task management and agile workflow tools, such as Asana, Trello, or Jira.

Presentation & Reporting: Advanced digital literacy in Google Workspace or the Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel) to build report data.
