BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Under direction of Chief of Staff and in direct collaboration with Public Information Officer, Digital Content Coordinator & Producer creates multimedia digital storytelling content using recorded video, photos, graphics, animation, sound effects, narration, and music; performs audio recording and editing for videos and podcasts; creates and schedules content on various social media channels; maintains media database and equipment; assists in managing social media channels and County Website.
Collaborates with IT Director and IT Team, Public Information Officer, and Chief of Staff to modernize and optimize County Website and Intranet to achieve an intuitive user-end experience, and to improve website features and content. Studies local governments regionally and nationally who are achieving an optimized, highly engaging, user-focused digital presence. Develops network of digital content-focused colleagues across County and municipal government organizations, leveraging their knowledge and insights to drive innovation and brand synergy within County Website and Intranet, social media accounts, and other internal and external online applications (CivicPlus, NextRequest, online payment functions, etc).
Performs all stages of video production such as developing video concepts; script research and writing; procuring and directing front-of-camera talent as needed; performing videography, camera operation, and lighting; scouting and securing locations; editing and mixing sound; using digital animation and editing software; creating graphics and assets.
Produces and directs live and/or recorded programs such as public meetings, training videos, and public service announcements. Works closely with County Manager, Chief of Staff, Public Information Officer, and other county staff to create social media plans and a broader content calendar to reach the widest audience and to tell relevant and impactful stories about County Elected Officials and employees, Community partners, stakeholders and residents, the Eddy County Experience, and more.
Appears in front of the camera as needed. Responsible for still photography and editing as needed. Responsible for graphic design as needed. Use of professional camera equipment, computer hardware, and creative software as needed to ensure the best possible production quality. FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot license to operate drones for commercial and official use preferred.
In concert with Chief of Staff and Public Information Officer, serves as a lead champion for the County�s brand and voice; consults with subject matter experts and interprets organizational decisions and strategies to ensure audience understanding and engagement; and performs other administrative support functions as directed by Chief of Staff. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings/trainings and perform other duties as assigned. Travel may be required in or out of state.
