We conceptualize awareness campaigns to raise the profile of Freddie Mac and the services we provide to showcase the impact of our work. We’re responsible for the design and implementation of effective communications and marketing strategies, the optimization of existing campaigns, and the creation of new content and digital and marketing strategies. We provide and develop creative direction within the approved brand framework and implement best practices for marketing including web, social media marketing and content amplification.  

We develop Freddie Mac’s cohesive and differentiated positioning to build reputation as a transformational organization in the housing market. We break down barriers to understanding and engagement through accessible and engaging content and effective marketing of Freddie Mac tools and resources. We amplify Freddie Mac initiatives across all channels to build a connection between Freddie Mac and its various audiences with the intention of growing engagement, followers and advocates. Your Impact: 

We are seeking a creative, results-oriented digital content writer and strategist to create compelling content for a variety of audiences that elevates the Freddie Mac brand and helps meet our business objectives.  

We take our role as a voice of Freddie Mac seriously and know the importance we play in our role as stewards of Freddie Mac’s profile and reputation. 

Digital Content Creation 

  • Write thought leadership articles, blogs, web content, email newsletters and other short- and long-form content that engages B2B, B2C and talent recruitment audiences and meets business objectives 

  • Conceptualize and pitch story ideas for B2B, B2C and talent recruitment audiences that align with messaging priorities. 

  • Manage the review process and subsequent content revisions through multiple rounds of stakeholder reviews from leaders at all levels. Meet all production deadlines. 

  • Perform peer reviews of content for alignment with channel tone and company positioning and quality assurance. Provide developmental editing as needed. 

  • Mentor junior content contributors, providing supportive and educational feedback to improve their writing over time.  

  • Optimize existing content for a variety of audiences and digital channels, as well as search engines and answer engines. 

 

Content Strategy and Consultation 

  • Create and manage the execution of the content strategy for the recruitment marketing blog, consumer content syndication and other digital channels.  

  • Advise internal clients from multiple business units on how to improve the effectiveness of their webpage content, informed by business objectives, user data, website best practices, and opportunities to optimize for search engines and answer engines. Write or revise the web content as needed. 

  • Lead web content update projects across multiple websites, in collaboration with the web strategy manager, digital product owners and other web support teams 

  • Stay abreast of current communications trends to drive continuous improvement through tools, technology, process and people. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 5-7 years of related experience. 

  • College degree in a communications field, journalism or equivalent experience. 

  • Outstanding written and verbal skills with expertise in both long- and short-form writing. (Applicant will be asked to submit writing samples and take a writing test.) 

  • Ability to understand and translate complex subject matter for multiple audiences. 

  • Creative problem solver who can connect the company’s objectives to compelling content in a variety of formats. 

  • Strong understanding of communications planning, creation, publishing, monitoring, and measurement methods and tools. 

  • Demonstrated experience in digital communications and content strategy for web, blogs and thought leadership. 

  • Public relations agency, media relations, financial services, housing industry and/or Capitol Hill experience a plus.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $93,000 - $139,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
