Under the supervision of the Digital Content Editor, maintains current information about attractions, lodging properties, restaurants, events and industry contacts in the TravelOK.com database. Communicates regularly with tourism industry members to create new site content or enrich existing site content. Develops and creates site content such as articles, itineraries, listing descriptions, newsletter copy, and social media posts as assigned.
Creating and submitting engaging travel articles, listing descriptions, photos and captions, and other site content while ensuring that only current information is presented to the public.
Researching and making updates to the TravelOK.com database of attractions, lodging properties, restaurants, events, and industry contacts consistent with OTRD criteria.
Editing information submitted by tourism industry members to ensure accuracy, adherence to OTRD criteria and consistency with house style.
Reviewing and editing user-generated content.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience using Microsoft Office suite; outstanding written communication skills; attention to detail and ability to concentrate for long periods of time; good oral communication skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with tourism industry members; the ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or other program with emphasis on written communication skills. Experience in content management systems and search engine optimization preferred. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and/or web-based graphic design platforms preferred.
