General Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Director of Creative & Web Development, the Graphic Designer and Content Strategist is responsible for managing and creating graphic design, basic copywriting, and photography that communicates the agency and school districts mission, goals and objectives.


Assignment: This position is full-time, year round. 

Salary: The full range for this position is $68,411.20-$83,241.60. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Create, review, and edit (as necessary) design and content solutions for print and digital deliverables for school district and ESD 112 program client partners in alignment with given brands.
  2. Integrate written content into visually compelling designs that enhance the message, have an intuitive flow, and offer clarity for the reader. Craft engaging graphic content, infographics, brand collateral, marketing materials, and other deliverables that consider target audiences and brand alignment.
  3. Collaborate closely with district and program client partners to ensure visual elements align with the intended purpose, tone, and messaging provided. Suggest content modifications, if necessary.
  4. Prioritize understanding of content/topic. Interpret and incorporate feedback to refine and elevate designs. 
Other Functions:
  1. Establish and maintain strong, positive working relationships with ESD 112 departments and school district clients.
  2.  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. 5-7 years of professional experience writing technical marketing collateral, articles, news releases and letters.
  3. Five years of experience with photography, the Adobe Creative Suite, Print Layout and Production, Typography, and web development.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in mass communication, graphic design, or related field.
  2. 7-10 years of experience in communications or graphic design.
  3. Experience in communication arts.
  4. Experience with new media or web publishing.
  5. Knowledge and experience in coordinating communication design activities.
  6. Knowledge and experience in overseeing/reviewing creative and design activities.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions:

  1. Extended or flexible hours as necessary.
  2. Travel within ESD 112 service region as needed.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
