This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. 

The Marketing Content Strategist is responsible for executing comprehensive brand strategies to enhance the credit union’s market presence and drive member growth.  This role involves coordinating all aspects of brand management, brand positioning, and the creation of marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences across the Meritrust footprint.  This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Assist with the development of social media strategies to achieve marketing targets.
Develop and produce content that aligns with the company’s brand voice, strategic objectives, and established processes. Ensure all content is consistent, on-brand, and adheres to defined guidelines, while supporting overall marketing goals and maintaining quality and accuracy across channels. Manage and maintain all company-facing accounts and public platforms, including social media channels and press release distribution accounts.
Execute and manage day-to-day acquisition efforts across key channels, including paid and organic social, content marketing, SEO, partnerships, and press distribution. Build, launch, and optimize campaigns designed to drive new member growth, including writing and publishing content, coordinating campaign assets, and refining audience targeting. Monitor channel performance daily, track key metrics such as traffic, conversions, and cost per acquisition, and make real-time adjustments to improve results.
Collaborate with graphic designers, CRM team members, and digital analytics teams to define target audiences, refine campaign concepts, and execute data-informed content. Communicate objectives, timelines, and performance insights to ensure alignment among team members and delivery of cohesive, on-brand content that drives engagement and results.
Facilitate client-company communication, respond to queries, organize chats and QA Sessions. Attend events to capture engaging content across social media channels.
Collaborate with the marketing team to write emails, web copy, audio announcements, chat bot scripts, and external communications, including social media posts. 
Work with the marketing team to ensure content and campaigns are optimized for search engines to improve visibility and organic traffic.  Includes, conducting keyword research, implementing on-page and off-page SEO techniques and continuously monitoring and analyzing website performance. Align SEO efforts with overall marketing goals to enhance the brand’s online presence, attract more qualified leads and drive conversions.



Stay up to date with new digital technologies, content strategies, and social media best practices.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:


Proven experience as a Social Media Strategist or similar role.
Hands-on experience using social media for brand awareness.
Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics.
Ability to identify target audience preferences and build content to meet them.
Familiarity with web design and publishing.
Superior writing, editing and interpersonal communication skills are required.


Education/Certification:


Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism or related field.


Required Knowledge:        


Expertise in using major social media platforms.
Ability to create and manage an editorial calendar to ensure consistent posting.
Experience with campaign planning, execution, and optimization across paid and organic channels
Awareness of emerging digital marketing technologies, content trends, and platform updates
Knowledge of managing company‑facing communication channels.
Knowledge of best practices for writing and editing content across multiple formats (social posts, emails, web pages, press releases, scripts)


Experience Required:


2-3 years of proven experience in content creation, marketing or social media, with a successful track record of developing content and social media campaigns/strategies.
1–3 years running or supporting paid social campaigns focused on growth or acquisition
2–3 years building, launching, and optimizing campaigns tied to conversions or new member/customer growth

Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
