The Senior Marketing Content Manager is responsible for leading the writing, editing, and management of compelling content used in marketing collateral, the firm’s websites, thought leadership campaigns, and other marketing initiatives. The Senior Marketing Content Manager manages and supervises a Marketing Content Editor and Senior Marketing Content Coordinator and helps ensure marketing content is consistent with the firm’s brand messaging and the strategic goals of the firm and its core practice and industry groups. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing strategies to create new content, refresh existing content, or phase out old content to support the firm’s growth and brand elevation goals and profile the work and achievements of the firm’s attorneys.

  • Collaborating with practice groups, individual partners, and business development professionals on practice descriptions, web content, marketing collateral, proposals and presentations, partner bios, thought leadership, etc.

  • Managing the review and addition of new content in Foundation, the firm’s experience management and marketing content management system.

  • Assisting in the editing and approval of client-facing publications and other thought leadership content.

  • Advising and presenting to attorneys and business professionals across the firm on how to develop compelling content and how to use content to raise awareness and grow business.

  • Supervising a Marketing Content Editor on the vetting of new content and editing/updating of existing content.

  • Supervising a Senior Marketing Content Coordinator on the posting and processing of aforementioned content.

  • Staying up to date on content trends in the legal and professional services industries and advising on new strategies to improve the firm’s approach to content.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, including the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, crisp prose that can be utilized across multiple platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to get consensus and collaboration from partners, business development teams, digital marketing team, and others throughout the firm; ability to explain concepts quickly and easily; ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.

  • Client-first and team-first attitude; responds promptly and effectively to internal and external client needs; understands sensitivity of client information.

  • Collaborates easily with others; acknowledges others' contributions; works effectively with individuals at all levels in the firm; willing to seek help as needed.

  • Knowledge and experience of the law firm business development process, including the content requirements and processes for winning pitches and proposals.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, or a combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Minimum seven (7) years of marketing content/communications/publications/business development experience in a large law firm or other professional services firm.

  • Experience in project management.

  • People manager experience.

Hiring Salary Range:

$160,000.00 - $180,000.00
