Azure Office of the CTO (AOCTO) plays a crucial role in Microsoft’s rapidly expanding business, shaping Azure’s strategic and technical direction and guiding future cloud investments. Our team supports Microsoft’s mission by acting as thought leaders and key connectors. We help remove obstacles for product teams, foster innovation, develop new ideas, and address technical shortcomings.   


 
We are seeking a Senior Technical Content Program Manager - Azure Office of the CTO. This role amplifies the influence and capacity of our CTO by leading end-to-end content strategy and execution for high-impact technical storytelling across flagship moments such as Microsoft Build and Ignite. The program manager is responsible for driving executive-ready slide decks, narratives, and technical demos from concept to delivery, partnering across product, engineering, research, communications, and event teams to shape the story, influence direction, and ensure quality at every stage. The ideal candidate is comfortable writing code to prototype demo scenarios and translating complex technologies into clear stories through PowerPoint presentations, recorded and live demos, and talk tracks, with a strong understanding of how Azure products and services fit together end-to-end.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and deliver effective speaking engagements for the CTO, including creation of presentation content and technical demos.
  • Partner broadly across Microsoft teams to identify new product and technology developments, synthesize input from multiple stakeholders, and translate it into compelling content and demos for events such as Microsoft Build and Ignite.
  • Tailor the CTO’s message, technical depth, and storytelling approach to specific audiences and customer contexts. 
  • Handle equipment setup, tech-checks, production tasks, and offer on-site support for the CTO. 
  • Keep up with cloud trends and share insights with the CTO and executive office. 
  • Maintain confidentiality on internal projects and initiatives not yet public.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

 

Other Requirements: 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Experience building and designing PowerPoint presentations for large audiences.


Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
