Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Communications Content Manager leads the school’s storytelling and content strategy across multiple platforms. The primary focus of this role is to manage, curate and create compelling content in support of a variety of AIS mediums including (but not limited to): print publications, e-newsletters, website, and social media.
This role works cross-functionally with all School divisions, and manages the ongoing, day-to-day communication of the School’s mission and brand to the varied spectrum of School stakeholders and constituent groups. Additionally, this role serves as editor-in-chief and lead writer for the school’s flagship magazine.

Position Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, copyedit, and proofread a variety of school materials including content on agnesirwin.org, outreach materials, internal community messages, and event-related materials.
- Collaborate with Development, Admissions, Academic Divisions, Athletics, and all other School divisions to support cross-functional messaging needs and to source timely and relevant updates
- Manage the school’s All-School e-newsletters: curate content, write and edit copy, and oversee design and scheduling
- Develop and maintain a cohesive content calendar in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team
- Manages and communicates schoolwide editorial policy and house style for written content and consistent usage across the School
- Forecasts, prepares, and manages budget allocations for AIS publications; hires and supervises third party content creators and writers for AIS publications as needed
- Serve as editor-in-chief of the school magazine (print and/or digital), published biannually
- Manage all phases of magazine production including planning, writing, editing, layout collaboration, photography coordination, and printing.
- Develop story ideas that reflect the vibrancy and values of the school community
- Ensure editorial consistency, brand alignment, and publication deadlines
- Supervise and collaborate daily with the Social Media Coordinator to ensure effective storytelling across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications Necessary:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, media or a closely related field plus 3 to 5 years of experience producing written communications that are clear, lively, and compelling or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience serving as a magazine or journal editor preferred
- Enthusiasm and the ability to garner support and interest from contributors throughout the school
- A team player with ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver results and use initiative
- Strong project management and organizational skills
