Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a Content Strategist (Journeyman) to support Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) Special Projects and outreach initiatives under the MODES III contract. This role supports Task 2 Outreach and Engagement services by translating Special Project objectives into clear, audience centered content strategies that support effective communication and engagement outcomes.
The Content Strategist defines messaging frameworks, content structures, tone, and delivery formats. This position ensures content is accurate, accessible, brand compliant, and measurable while aligning content to platforms, campaigns, and MC&FP priorities.
This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Content Strategist (Journeyman) will:
- Translate Special Project and campaign objectives into clear, audience centered content strategies.
- Define messaging frameworks, content structures, tone, and delivery formats.
- Align content approaches with platforms, campaigns, and engagement objectives.
- Ensure content accuracy, accessibility, brand compliance, and consistency.
- Collaborate with campaign strategists, UX, analytics, and communications teams.
- Support development of content plans, calendars, and governance documentation.
- Establish content measurement approaches aligned to campaign and platform goals.
- Support optimization of content based on performance and engagement insights.
- Review and guide content development to ensure strategic alignment.
- Document content strategies, standards, and reusable frameworks.
- Support continuous improvement of content strategy methodologies and processes.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust from any federal agency.
Education (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
Experience (Required)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience developing and executing content strategies.
- Experience supporting multi channel content initiatives.
- Experience aligning content to campaigns, platforms, and audience needs.
- Experience supporting federal or public-sector communications preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Required:
- Expertise in content strategy, messaging frameworks, and editorial planning.
- Understanding of accessibility and plain language principles.
- Ability to define content measurement and performance approaches.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with digital content platforms and content management systems.
- Familiarity with analytics and content performance measurement.
- Experience supporting Special Projects or innovation initiatives.
Certifications
Required:

- Certifications in content strategy, digital communications, or UX writing
