Xavier University’s Office of Marketing and Communications seeks applications for a talented writer and content developer for the position of Enrollment Content Strategist, Graduate.
The Enrollment Content Strategist will provide centralized communications and marketing support in the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and will report directly to the Director of Graduate Marketing and Communications. This position is responsible for providing leadership and support on all graduate enrollment marketing planning throughout the full recruitment funnel including prospect management, application generation, yield efforts, and student onboarding/melt prevention. This position will coordinate with internal Xavier staff and faculty to architect an overall strategic plan for recruiting and onboarding prospective undergraduate and graduate students through concise, creative, and engaging written communication (i.e. emails, print mailers, text messages, etc.).
Potential candidates should possess a positive attitude, demonstrated ability to function within a collaborative team, and a passion for enrollment marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience creating and managing comprehensive email communication flows and working in CRM platforms.
The Office of Marketing and Communications strives to maintain a marketing function that leads the industry by leveraging the Xavier brand for image, enrollment, and fundraising initiatives. This person will review all outbound work from our office to ensure the highest level of brand quality and consistency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to support prospective graduate students through the enrollment process.
- Write and manage a personalized email communication plan for 40+ graduate programs, including admissions updates, financial aid details, and next-step guidance.
- Manage digital content for the Xavier Graduate Admission website, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Lead day-to-day email and marketing automation campaigns in Slate, including drip campaigns, recruitment funnel messaging, and onboarding communications.
- Analyze marketing performance metrics, applying best practices and trends to optimize communication effectiveness.
- Collaborate with faculty, recruiters, financial aid, and program directors to create program-specific content and support recruitment strategies.
- Partner with marketing and communications staff to produce print and digital collateral, while supporting onboarding initiatives and counselor-student engagement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of email marketing strategies, best practices, and tools to enhance engagement and deliver effective campaigns.
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms (preferably Slate) and digital engagement tools commonly used in recruitment.
- Strong project management expertise, with a track record of coordinating complex initiatives across diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the capacity to foster collaboration across academic units and administrative teams.
- Familiarity with project management and content management systems.
- Skilled in balancing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality or detail.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in content development, writing, or email marketing.
Preferred Qualification:
- Familiarity with Slate CRM platform.
- Proven success collaborating effectively across departments and functional areas.
- Experience managing projects or programs within a university environment.
