Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. The Proposal Marketing Writer is an integral member of the Sales Communication Strategy team, who drives the development of compelling, persuasive, and timely proposals and other sales communications that help to position Capital competitively in market. This role collaborates closely with Commercial Group Sales, fellow marketers, and many subject-matter experts to develop high-impact proposals, presentations, and other strategic communications that clearly articulate our value and help us stand out with customers. The Proposal Marketing Writer plays a key role in shaping Capital's voice and ensures that every customer touchpoint reflects our promise to be the most trusted health plan by going the extra mile for our customers.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Lead the development of strategic sales communications

Take ownership of developing requests for proposal (RFPs), sales resources, and other strategic communications from kickoff to final delivery. Coordinate with Sales and other business units to gather input, write persuasive narratives, and ensure high-quality, timely submissions that help Capital win and retain business.

  • Create content that connects

Partner with subject-matter experts to write targeted, compelling, and timely content for various channels, spanning digital and print, that highlights Capital's products and services to all commercial group market segments. Research, write, and edit succinct, engaging content including newsletters, customer presentations, and internal training resources.

  • Respond to RFIs

Coordinate and create thoughtful, thorough responses to requests for information (RFIs), aligning Capital’s capabilities with the needs of prospective customers.

  • Collaborate and contribute

Partner with subject-matter experts to strategize on effective ways to position Capital’s products and services with business decision-makers. Be an active voice in brainstorming sessions, kick-off meetings, conference calls, campaign execution, and customer meetings.

  • Maintain RFP content library

Own and manage the RFP database to ensure content is accurate, current, and easily accessible. Train users on database updates and enhancements.

 

Skills:

  • Strong writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) among executive management and colleagues to solve challenges, manage differences of opinion, and secure accurate information to respond to customer requests.

  • Strong project management skills. Ability to develop, prioritize, execute, coordinate, manage, and guide implementation of major projects. Must have the ability to conduct, manage, and balance multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines.

  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks to assist Marketing colleagues.

  • Strong PC skills, particularly in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years' progressive experience in communications, content creation, or marketing. Proposal writing or sales support experience is a plus.

Location: 

  • This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (degree in communications, journalism or English preferred, but not required).

  • Ability to perform job assignments independently
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, workload requirements, and reporting relationships.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and see.
  • The employee must be able to work over 40 hours per week.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds.
