At ServBeyond, we’re a mission-driven team supporting federal and commercial clients with innovative solutions in IT services, digital transformation, and strategic communications. We’re seeking a versatile Proposal Writer/Content Manager to oversee and enhance our internal and external communications, encompassing web content, social media, and proposal documentation. 

 

This hybrid role requires at least one day per week in our Rockville, MD office to foster collaboration and stay connected with our fast-paced team. 

 

About the Role: 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Writer/Content Manager to support our growing IT services and government contracting operations. This hybrid role is ideal for a communicator who understands the nuances of federal contracting and can translate complex technical information into clear, compelling content. You will manage internal and external content across various platforms, support proposal development, and ensure that our digital presence accurately reflects our mission and capabilities. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Content Strategy & Management 

  • Create and maintain compelling, clear, and consistent content for internal web pages and customer-facing platforms.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, and project managers to produce accurate and user-friendly documentation, including but not limited to text documents and PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Tailor content to various audiences (technical, executive, federal clients, end users).
  • Conduct research to identify relevant topics and create engaging, personalized, and informative content for both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Create and manage a content calendar. 

Proposal & Contract Support 

  • Support the development of compliant and persuasive proposal content, including but not limited to past performance, technical volumes, and resumes. 
  • Develop and maintain a library of reusable proposal content and templates to streamline the proposal process. 
  • Draft, edit, and format proposal responses (technical and management sections) in compliance with federal RFP/RFQ requirements. 

Digital & Social Media Presence 

  • Manage and update the company’s website and social media channels with relevant content, including contract wins, thought leadership, and service offerings. 
  • Coordinate with Business Development and ServBeyond Leadership to align messaging with strategic objectives. 
  • Manage updates and branding consistency across internal portals and external websites. 
  • Create engaging media content for ServBeyond's intranet and employee-facing communications.
  • Track performance metrics and suggest improvements for digital engagement. 

Compliance & Quality Assurance 

  • Ensure all content adheres to federal standards, branding guidelines, and Section 508 accessibility requirements. 
  • Conduct regular audits of internal and external content for accuracy and consistency. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Coordinate with proposal managers, SMEs, Business Development and Capture Managers, and project teams to gather and refine content.
  • Work closely with HR and leadership to align messaging with company values and strategic goals.
  • Participate in internal meetings and planning sessions to identify communication needs and requirements. 

 

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in content creation and management, preferably in a government contracting or IT services environment.
  • 2-5 years of direct proposal experience for a government contracting company.
  • Familiarity with federal proposal processes (FAR, DFARS) and tools like GovWin, SAM.gov, or eSRS is a plus. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress). 
  • A strong understanding of IT terminology, cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise systems is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to tone, grammar, and clarity. 
  • SEO and social media strategy understanding. 

Preferred: 

  • Basic design and layout experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar tools). 
  • Working knowledge of APMP standards or Shipley proposal methodology 
  • Experience with video or audio content creation (e.g., training videos, recorded webinars, or voiceovers) is a plus.

Salary Range 

The salary range for the Proposal Writer/Content Manager position is competitive and commensurate with experience, typically between $77,000 - $91,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.
