Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Marketing Content & Performance Analytics
Location: SSF is preferred although Canada is also an option. Engagement will be through the end of this year.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and data-driven Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our team. This role will be focusing on the Marketing Content Analytics and Marketing Operational Performance Analytics space involving data from Systems used in Content Creation, Assembly, Review and Approval to Publishing and Distribution. The role will help drive the delivery of needs in this space through Business Intelligence (BI) projects, delivering Analytics functions in the form of Dashboards, Reports and Portals.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of marketing processes, digital content management lifecycles, and a proven track record of translating complex business requirements into actionable specifications for data solutions, dashboards, and analytical tools. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive impactful data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:
- Act as the primary liaison between Marketing, Digital Content Management, Digital Operations teams as well as technical teams to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for BI, reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth interviews, workshops, and surveys with stakeholders to understand current challenges, pain points, and desired outcomes related to marketing performance, digital content effectiveness, customer journeys, and campaign optimization.
- Translate high-level business needs into clear, concise, and comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Proactively identify and resolve requirement ambiguities, conflicts, and gaps.
- Data & Solution Design:
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, BI developers, data scientists, and architects to design scalable and efficient data models, data pipelines, and analytics solutions that support marketing and digital content reporting needs.
- Define data definitions, data sources, transformations, and aggregation rules for key marketing KPIs
- Contribute to the design and development of intuitive and impactful dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet user needs for data visualization and actionable insights.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of BI and analytics tools.
- Domain Expertise & Strategy:
- Leverage deep domain knowledge in Marketing (e.g., digital marketing, CRM, campaign management, customer segmentation, lead generation, attribution modeling) and Digital Content Management (e.g., content lifecycle, CMS platforms, DAM, content performance, user experience) to inform and enhance data strategies.
- Identify opportunities for leveraging data to optimize marketing spend, personalize customer experiences, improve content effectiveness, and drive business growth.
- Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts to ensure data accuracy, report validity, and solution quality.
- Collaborate with QA teams to validate data transformations and report outputs against business requirements.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, data engineering, and leadership.
- Present findings, insights, and proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Documentation & Training:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements specifications, data dictionaries, process diagrams, and user guides.
- Provide training and support to end-users on new BI tools, dashboards, and analytical capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role with a strong focus on BI, reporting, and analytics.
- Mandatory: Proven professional experience (3+ years) specifically within the Marketing and/or Digital Content Management domains. This should include familiarity with common marketing metrics, digital channels, and content lifecycle processes.
- Experience working with various BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik Sense), data warehousing concepts, and SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms like Adobe Express, Workfront, Experience Manager, Veeva Promomats is highly desirable.
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice-versa.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts or predictive modeling is a plus.
