Position Overview

Berry Law seeks a highly skilled and motivated Veterans Disability Content Writer to join our team. This individual will serve as a key voice in communicating Berry Law’s mission to support Veterans nationwide. The ideal candidate is a strong, adaptable writer capable of producing high-quality, publication-ready content daily.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish daily content related to Veterans Disability and VA benefits, including news updates, educational blogs, and thought-leadership pieces.
  • Write, edit, and contribute to the Nebraska VA Benefits Manual and other internal or external publications.
  • Create engaging social media content tailored to Veterans and their families across multiple platforms.
  • Draft compelling video scripts for short-form educational and testimonial-style videos to support digital marketing campaigns.
  • Research and pitch PR opportunities to national and regional outlets to increase awareness of Berry Law’s advocacy for Veterans.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on content strategy, tone, SEO optimization, and distribution plans.
  • Coordinate closely with the VA Leadership Team to ensure all written materials reflect accurate, compliant, and up-to-date information about VA disability law and benefits.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics on published content to continuously improve reach, engagement, and conversion outcomes.
  • Stay current on VA news, regulatory updates, and emerging topics affecting Veterans and their benefits.



Qualifications 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional writing experience, ideally in law, military, or government-related content.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, digital marketing best practices, and content distribution strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet daily publishing expectations.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across departments and with leadership teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience writing about VA Disability Benefits, Veterans law, or related legal topics.
  • Familiarity with legal content compliance and tone of voice for professional legal services.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm, Veteran organization, or media outlet covering military or government affairs.
  • Basic understanding of video production, PR strategy, and content analytics tools.
