POSITION SUMMARY
The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, publishing, and measuring content for Team San Jose’s digital platforms (including social media) and additional projects as needed. This individual will be responsible for working with Content & Digital Strategy Marketing Manager to ensure strategic channel growth for all Visit San Jose and Team San Jose digital channels.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create marketing content as needed in leisure and meetings marketing strategies, campaigns, sponsorships and promotions
- Lead the creation and curation of marketing tools and sales collateral to drive businesses, including web publishing (CMS), digital asset management (DAM) and customer relationship management (CRM)
- In partnership with Marketing Team, support website development and evolution, share social platform publishing responsibilities, and create content when needed
- Develop and execute Visit San Jose’s TikTok strategy to support seasonal content campaigns and content pillars
- Collaborate with Sales, PR and Marketing teams regularly to ensure strategies are optimized across all TSJ lines of business
- Monitor and report on industry trends and best practices
- Gather web and social data and craft into usable presentations to educate Board, Senior Team and partners
- Contribute to email and social media marketing campaigns as needed
- Curate User Generated Content (UCG) platform under direction of Content & Digital Marketing Strategy Manager
- Execute department operations including budget tracking and reporting, managing invoices, and expenses
- Recommend and execute content creation of other Visit San Jose social channels as markets evolve
- Interpret marketing channel dashboard metric for industry pages and partner reporting
- Other duties as needed and requested
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years related experience in marketing, social media, and/or communications role
- Strong social media, copywriting and editing skills with ability to adapt communication for multiple platforms and specific audiences
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Enthusiastic, dependable, positive and collaborative team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite
- Familiarization of Adobe Creative Suite or have ability to learn
- Ability to keep focused on long-term goals
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Destination, Travel or Tourism industry experience or willingness to learn a plus
- In depth knowledge of the City of San Jose and surrounding area
