About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Content who can help take Jomboy Media to the next level. This isn’t just about running a content team - it’s about shaping the voice of a company that our community trusts and loves. You’ll work directly with our content creators to help them develop new ideas, formats, and shows with a focus on growth and authenticity. You’ll oversee the entire content pipeline - from production to social to distribution - and ensure our storytelling stays fresh, relevant, on-brand, and innovative.
This is a hands-on leadership role that touches every part of the company. You’ll collaborate with sales, marketing, and merch to make sure our content also drives the business forward. You’ll manage partnerships, including with Major League Baseball, to create content that elevates both Jomboy Media and our partners. And you’ll mentor a team of producers and creatives while also managing up to senior leadership to set vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Content & Creative Leadership
- Own the full content pipeline — from ideation to production, distribution, and performance.
- Partner with creators to develop new shows, segments, and tentpoles that drive growth and engagement.
- Lead and mentor producers, editors, and creative staff to foster a collaborative, idea-driven culture.
- Review performance data and ensure storytelling stays fresh, relevant, and on-brand.
Partnerships & Strategic Growth
- Lead the Creative x Sales process — packaging content proactively for sales and ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and in line with Jomboy Media’s voice.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team on key initiatives such as MLB Post-Season, Holidays, Spring training, annual content slate planning, etc.
- Serve as primary point of contact with MLB, managing the partnership and maximizing opportunities across access, player integration, and joint storytelling.
- Oversee content and production strategy for content licensing and distribution opportunities, including the launch of Jomboy Media’s FAST Channel, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a successful 2026 launch.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and merch teams to align content strategy with business goals.
- Collaborate on brand partnerships, sponsored content, and integrated campaigns that drive both revenue and relevance.
- Partner with the Head of Commerce on the content plan for the upcoming subscription product, ensuring strong integration between creative output and revenue goals.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Conduct regular 1:1s with key team members to assess workload, morale, and development opportunities.
- Identify and elevate top performers; coach and restructure roles where needed to optimize team performance.
- Create a strong feedback loop between creative and operational teams, maintaining an environment of transparency and accountability.
- Delegate effectively to empower team growth while freeing yourself to focus on long-term strategic initiatives.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee production timelines, budgets, and workflows to ensure efficient execution.
- Use analytics and insights to continuously improve content performance and audience growth.
- Refine systems and processes for scale and sustainability as the company expands.
- Fully own and manage the asset management system to ensure seamless organization, accessibility, and consistency across all teams.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in content creation, with at least 3 in a leadership role.
- Proven success leading multi-platform content strategies across YouTube, podcasts, social, and live.
- Track record of building and mentoring creative teams while managing cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong operational acumen — comfortable overseeing timelines, budgets, and partnerships.
- Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder, both internally and with external partners.
- Deep understanding of sports culture, storytelling, and audience engagement.
- Familiarity with the baseball ecosystem and the broader sports media landscape is a plus.
- Thrives in a creative, fast-paced, startup-like environment.
What You’ll Lead in Your First 90 Days
- 30 Days: Learn the Jomboy Media ecosystem — master the Creative x Sales process, build relationships with key team members and MLB contacts, and audit all ongoing and upcoming sponsored projects.
- 60 Days: Take ownership of Creative x Sales meetings and processes; become the primary MLB contact; begin planning for the March 2026 FAST channel launch.
- 90 Days: Refine our content systems, lead MLB partnership innovation, and drive the next wave of tentpole and sponsorship strategies for 2026.

Compensation
The compensation will be based on a range of $175,000 - $200,000 annually. The range represents the low and high ends of the base salary someone in this role may earn. Salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to professional experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
